On the southern shore of Lake Superior lies Grand Island, a short ferry ride from Munising, MI. The Grand Island Trail Marathon circumnavigates the island with amazing view of Lake Michigan and Pictured Rocks throughout the run. If you run this race, beware of the black flies as you wait for the start after the ferry drops you off. Ouch.
